Environmental policy
Our group has always supported initiatives that promote environmental responsibility.
This has involved a balanced and sustainable approach to long term economic growth and quality of life, while seeking solutions that help protect and restore the environment.
In recognition of this, our Environmental Policy is as follows:
"Norfolkline is committed to the protection of the environment and places high priority on environmental considerations in managing its business".
We will accomplish these commitments by:
- Minimising the environmental impact of our business though constant care - careful use of resources, optimisation of operations and handling of waste streams
- Continually striving for improvement in our environmental performance and pollution prevention across all our activities.
This involves source reduction efforts, environmental awareness and the application of environmentally friendly technologies.
Implementing our policy
By actively suggesting new transportation solutions to our customers, we aim at reducing the environmental impact, raise the quality, improve the work environment and prevent risks for the services we offer.
We will put the focus on three areas according to our four core values, environment, quality, work environment and safety. These are:
- Transportation services, carriers, shipping companies, railway and terminals
- Trailers, tyres, carwash and maintenance
- Office environment, paper, equipment and waste management
Through these efforts we create continuous improvements and prevent the negative effects, while following legal and other requirements that are placed upon us.
- We have a continuous dialogue with our customers, suppliers and other parties in order to show the improvements we achieve and to receive their input as to what we can do that can lead to improvements in our ongoing cooperation.
- We train our staff in order to push the environmental work forward and to sustain the commitment and awareness in the company.
- The work within our core values is of strategic importance and a condition for our long-term competitiveness
